Benefits of the H2A and H2B Programs

These H2 visas were created for non-professional workers without an academic degree, which allows them to work legally and temporarily in the United States. H2 visas are based on I-129 petition, which means that an employer must submit a job application for their workers, who will receive a certification from the Department of Labor, with the approval of the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State. Therefore, the great benefit is obtaining a legal permit, with safe transportation, fair wages, with the protection of all your rights as migrants and the certainty that all your needs will be covered in a dignified manner during the time of the contract.

The H2A Non-immigrant Visa Program, specifically aimed at temporary agricultural workers (planting and harvesting crops), aims to protect migrants from criminal actors who charge excessive fees to carry them illegally, with high risks to life and Health. An advantage of H2A visas is that currently there is no limit on their issuance, as long as there is a company that requires your services and hires you.

H2B visas are intended for non-agricultural workers, for example, for gardening, construction, forests and for the service area in hotels, among others. One of the limitations in this type of visa is that currently there are only 66,000 workers authorized per year.
