Immigration Education in Guatemala

For EMIGRA, immigration education is one of the solutions to make migrant workers aware of the correct path they should follow, which allows them as a family to build a long-term and sustainable economy to get out of poverty and precariousness. Migrating within the legal framework is important to get temporary jobs year after year, enjoying the benefits and protection that immigration laws offer in each country that allows it.
Migration education addresses aspects, such as:

  • Coexistence

  • Behavior

  • Efficiency

  • Responsibility

  • Legality

  •  Good practices

To receive teaching on immigration education, a study program was designed that covers the most important and useful aspects of migration issues, as well as issues related to language and how to move in another country. This course is received for 2 or 3 days in person and includes:

  • Material and the book “How to work legally in the United States” (from Jorge J. Zanatta and adapted for Guatemala, with the exclusive rights of use for Emigra) are delivered to the student.

  • Participation diploma that certifies you as a skilled migrant worker.

  • Certified worker card, with a QR code that contains your personal information.

  • Life insurance with repatriation.
